Biography

Matthew P. Jones, Ph.D. is the CEO of Quants Compete, a company he founded in 2020. His goal is to help individuals and companies reach their financial goals through quantitative strategies. Matt has over twenty years experience conducting detailed analyses and complying with various regulatory bodies. He holds a Ph.D. in physics from Auburn University, and a B.S. & M.S. in mechanical engineering from Clemson University. He earned a graduate certificate in project management from Boston University and holds his Series 65 license. His analytical approach includes developing quantitative models, analyses and reports that bring clarity to his investment decisions. Matt’s background enables him to generate strategic solutions to problems, as well as identify, analyze and mitigate risks.

It’s been quite a journey so far. I’m very happy to see that there are many more peaks ahead for me to climb.

Much of the impetus for him starting Quants Compete came from his desire to help people of all backgrounds gain access to active wealth management tools. Matt greatly enjoys being able to help others while applying the sum total of his experiences and education.
